AMS Minority Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to minority students who will be entering their freshman year of college in the fall of 2020 and are planning to pursue careers in the atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences.


HSF General College Scholarships

Sponsor: Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)

Amount: Up to $5,000

Closing Date: February 15

Description: Scholarship is open to students of Hispanic descent who are graduating high school seniors, community colleges students, transfer students, college students, or graduate students. All majors and graduate fields are accepted, but there is an emphasis on STEM majors.


LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships

Sponsor: LAGRANT Foundation

Amount: $2,500

Closing Date: February 28

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and AB-540/DACA recipients who are a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American/Alaska Native. Applicant must be a full-time student at a four-year accredited institution in the U.S. with at least a 3.0 GPA and majoring in a field of study that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public relations. Applications submitted on or before January 17 will be eligible for an extra 10 points.


LPGA Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to female graduating high school seniors who played golf in high school. There are scholarships for students who are planning on playing collegiate golf and for students not planning on playing collegiate golf. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships open to minority female students.


ACS Scholars Program

Sponsor: American Chemical Society (ACS)

Amount: Up to $5,000

Closing Date: March 1

Description: Scholarship is open to African-American, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian students who are graduating high school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores or juniors intending to or already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically related science.


Maureen L. and Howard Blitman, P.E. Scholarship

Sponsor: National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE)

Amount: $5,000

Closing Date: March 1

Description: Applicant must be a high school senior who is a member of an underrepresented ethnic minority (African-American, Hispanic, or Native American) who has been accepted into an ABET-accredited engineering program at a four-year college or university.


Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship Program

Sponsor: Illinois Student Assistance Commission

Amount: Up to $5,000

Closing Date: March 1

Description: Scholarship is open to residents of Illinois who are minority students of either African-American/Black, Hispanic American, Asian American or Native Origin. Applicant must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at an Illinois institution of higher education in a course of study which, upon completion, qualifies them to be certified as a preschool, elementary, or secondary school teacher.


Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students

Sponsor: American Institute of CPAs (AICPA)

Amount: Up to $5,000

Description: Scholarship is open to full-time minority students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or an accounting-related major. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.


HACEMOS Scholarship program

Sponsor: HACEMOS

Amount: Up to $2,500

Closing Date: March 2

Description: Scholarship is open to high school students and graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Applicant must be of Hispanic heritage OR a dependent child of an active HACEMOS member, age 25 and under.


Leonard M. Perryman Scholarship

Sponsor: United Methodist Communications

Amount: $2,500

Description: Scholarship is open to racial ethnic minorities students who are United Methodist undergraduate students intending to pursue a career in religion journalism or mass communications.

Description: Scholarship is open to minority graduating high school seniors who are attending school in the United States and planning to enroll in a regionally accredited post-secondary institution. Applicant must submit an essay on the topic, “Finding My Purpose.”


API Study Abroad and Intern Abroad Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to API program participants. There are multiple scholarships with specific requirements – see website for details. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships specifically open to community college students, military veterans, non-traditional students, students with disabilities, minority students, LGBTQ students, STEM majors, and student athletes.


Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation Scholarship

Sponsor: Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus

Amount: $2000

Description: Each year, the members of the ILLCF select deserving young people of good character and high academic achievement to receive a $2,000 Foundation scholarships to help them achieve their educational objectives. Scholarships are granted to undergraduate college students whose home residence is in Illinois and are of Latino descent.
