Description: This scholarship fund has been created by Amare for those in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction in his honor so that they may drastically change the course of their life by earning a degree for a fulfilling career in the Vocational Arts. The scholarship offers $1,000 ($500 per semester) to one Female and one Male student that covers Tuition, Fees, Books, and Supplies for the Fall and Spring semester. Recipients must lives in Madison County IL, must be in recovery from Drug and/or Alcohol addiction a minimum of 1 year from the application deadline, pursuing a career in vocation arts, enrolled a minimum of 6 credit hours, and provide two letters of support:
1. from a family member or friend stating that the applicant is doing well and in active recovery
2. from a sponsor or counselor/therapist stating applicant is doing well and are in active recovery, meeting the 1 year minimum to the best of their knowledge.
